The Singh Deo house

The estate is not a haunted-house idea. It is this family's inherited ground — garden, well, outbuildings — held longer than anyone still living can remember. What was buried here was buried on purpose.

ମାଟିରେ ପୋତି ହୋଇଥିବା ଅଭିଶାପ, ପିଢି ପରେ ପିଢି ବୁହା ଯାଏ।

Ivy through the verandah. A well the family still draws from. Nobody sold the house. Nobody dared. Every heirloom on this land kept a debt no one agreed to pay.

03 · The Hall

What the wall would tell you

ଯାହା ପୋତି ହୋଇଥିଲା, ତାହା ଏବେ ଉଠୁଛି।

Inside the ancestral house, Manyata Singh Deo opens a locked box the family had kept shut for generations.

What wakes is not a stranger that wandered in. It is something this house — this bloodline — had been holding. The curse does not arrive. It is already wearing her.

Her sister Anindita and brother Samarendra bring Father Thomas across the threshold to end what Manyata let out. A tale of two sisters: one fights the darkness. The other carries it within.

The box was never meant to open

ଏହି କାହାଣୀ ଏକ ବାକ୍ସରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ। ବାକ୍ସ ଖୋଲ ନାହିଁ

Dahaan's box is an inherited object — locked, kept in this house, refused for a reason the family stopped saying out loud. Opening it is not curiosity. It is admitting what they put inside.

The lock is the last instruction. The lamp is how they sat with it in the dark and still said no.

National Award for Pratikshya. Horror since Horror Zone on Tarang TV in 2013. He produced Tulasi Apa, then Karma and Gangs of Puri, and now opens a box the Amiya Patnaik Production banner cannot close.

DAHAAN is written and directed by Anupam, produced with Barsha Patnaik, and shot by Deepak Kumar. An Odia film made for cinema halls. In theatres this Ganesh Puja.
